About the cookies we use
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can remember things between page loads and visits. This site uses only a modest set of them, and you can switch most off without breaking anything important. This policy lists what's stored, why, and how to take control. It sits alongside the Privacy Policy, which covers data more broadly.
Some cookies are set by this site directly. A few are set by the analytics provider that measures traffic on our behalf.
The cookies we set
They fall into three groups. Only the first is genuinely necessary for the site to function.
- Essential cookies: these keep the site working, for example remembering that you've dismissed a notice or handling basic security. They can't be turned off from within the site because the pages rely on them.
- Analytics cookies: these count visits and page views so we can see which reviews are read most. The data is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally.
- Preference cookies: these remember small choices you make, such as a display setting, so you don't have to set them again on your next visit.
We don't use advertising cookies to build a marketing profile of you, and we don't sell cookie data. If you follow an outbound link to a casino, that operator sets its own cookies under its own policy, which we don't control.
How long they last
Some cookies vanish the moment you close the browser. Others stick around so a return visit is smoother.
- Session cookies expire when you close your browser tab.
- Persistent cookies remain for a set period, usually up to a few months, then expire on their own.
How to control cookies
You're in charge. Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has stored, delete them, and block new ones. Blocking analytics and preference cookies won't stop you reading the reviews, though a preference you'd set may not be remembered.
- Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all keep cookie controls under their privacy or settings menu.
- You can delete existing cookies at any time and start fresh.
- You can browse in a private or incognito window, which discards cookies when you close it.
- A browser extension that blocks trackers will also limit analytics cookies.
If you clear or block cookies and then something on the site behaves oddly, that's usually why, and it's easily reversed by allowing essential cookies again.
